History
Talitha Cumi Ministries was formed and organized by Minister Eunice Wade in April, 2001. Her initial focus was to support women and girls
beginning at the age of 12 years old. The desire was and still today is reached those who have felt like they are disconnected, afraid, and unequipped to face every day challenges. Applying the theme of the number twelve, which was the part of the vision for this organization, Minister Wade developed a core team of 12 individuals who had expertise in various work-related industries and with this wealth of experience and knowledge it would be use to structure and put into operation this outreach effort. Since 2001 each Christmas season Talitha Cumi has supported community shelter and faith-based organization that reach out to women, children and the homeless by providing food, clothes and toys for the children. Through this effort, each year we assist 25 to 30 women and approximately 75 to 90 youth/children. In past the ministry has also aided burn out victims, run-aways, and those in past abusive relationships who need items for a new start.
For the past 5 years the ministry has offered numerous empowerment workshops, social gatherings and has begun to build a empowerment and mentoring program for girls from age 12 to 18 yrs of age called "Sisters for Sisters Empowerment Program". Sisters for Sisters Empowerment Program is a girls education, empowerment, and mentoring program. The majority of the young women we work with are consider “at-risk” youth encountering varies obstacles in their day to day travels.
